This so much, omfg. It’s not the clothes, flirting, drinking, etc. that causes a rape to happen. THE RAPIST CAUSES THE RAPE TO HAPPEN. What about those children who’ve gotten raped? What about those who’ve gotten raped by their spouses, family members, friends, etc? Is it really the clothes that drew them in? I didn’t think so. It’s not about being physically appealing, either. It’s about the fact that the rapist doesn’t respect boundaries and enjoys the control factor. It’s more than just looks or clothes. Either way, drinking too much, or wearing a short skirt is not an invitation for sex. A look, a smile, a wink, a touch is not an invitation into my pants. Absolutely nothing gives anyone the right to touch me in any inappropriate manner.
